The Rocky Mountain Foundation for the Performing Arts is offering a unique opportunity for your vocal and instrumental students.
We would like to invite your orchestra, band, and vocal students to perform on stage under the direction of former resident conductor of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Mr. Scott O’Neil! There is no cost to students for this experience however, we will be looking for the best of the best musicians at the high school and college level!
All high school orchestra, band, and vocal students (including 2018 graduates) are invited to be a part of this full symphony orchestra and choir. Interested students must be recommended by their directors and will be invited to audition for these orchestras.
The orchestra will accompany John Denver as he sings his most popular hits on video! Music arrangements will be provided.
We will invite students within the greater Denver, CO area to form the orchestra with the help of band, music and choir directors to help in the audition process.
In addition, we would like to come to your region and form a separate group of students from area high schools and colleges. In this instance, your students will
be the stars. We invite vocalists and instrumentalists to step to the front of the stage and perform John Denver songs with the full orchestra behind them. (Again, there is no cost to the students or your program.) Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in joining.
The purpose of these concerts is to keep the music of John Denver alive and to introduce his music to a new generation of musicians. The concerts will be a fundraiser for the Foundation so that we may award scholarships to students who are interested in continuing their music education to the next level. Our goal is to have the first concert in May 2018 at a location to be determined!
If you, as a music director, music teacher, band director, orchestra director or choir director are interested in this project and would like to help your student musicians and vocalists become a part of this exciting opportunity, please write to Willie Hoevers at
